  • Obituary: FIDDES, Florence M. - The passing occurred on May 7, 2004, in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, of Florence M. Fiddes, at the age of 95. She was born in Truro, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie Biswanger. She was a resident of Central Onslow for many years and was a lifetime member of the UCW of Onslow United Church. Many knew her for her baking and handiwork. She is survived by daughters, Helen Zwicker (Warren), Indian Point, Lunenburg Co.; Nancy Phillips (William), Bible Hill; Sharon Hewitt (David), River John; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Lois Lynds (Carl), Halifax; Ruth Brown (Harry), Hamilton, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, William Alexander; daughters, Shirley Webber (Walter) (Chester) and Norma MacCormack (Ronald) (Bible Hill). She was also predeceased by sisters, Maude, Marion, Jean, Eula, Dorothy, Mary; brothers, Carl, Max, and Lloyd. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Colchester Community Funeral Home on Monday, May 10, at 2 p.m. There will be no visitation by request. A reception will follow in the funeral home following the service. Burial in Robie Street Cemetery. Family flowers only.
