Notes

  • Occupation: Nurse
  • Death: Congestive Heart Failure
  • Obituary: Betty L. Favorite, founder of Favorite Associates and Co-founder of Favorite Nurses, passed away at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, WA of complications from congestive heart failure on May 3, 2012. Betty was born in Quincy, MA to Leonard Donnelly and Margret Doris Langille Donnelly on 3/11/28. During her senior year at Quincy High School she was the head Drum Major and Wollaston's Rainbow for Girls Worthy Advisor. Her love for nursing started at an early age, she graduated from Children's Hospital in 1950, and stayed in nursing until the birth of her first child. Then in 1974, she was recruited back to nursing by insurance companies and nursing registries to become a local pioneer in vocational rehab and case management until she started her own companies in the 1980s. Her avocation was traveling visiting China, Japan, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, England, Austria, Canada, and always loved her annual trips to Maui. Though Betty was content to follow her own path, she was always engaging, with a positive attitude, and a nice word for others. Her personality could best be characterized as compassionate and kind. She was well liked and admired for her perseverance by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Betty Favorite was preceded in death by her first husband Lt. Lee H. Favorite in 1951 and her husband of 55 years, Dr. Felix Favorite in 2007. She is survived by her four loving children, her grandson, her sister Judith Donnelly Paul, and cousins.
