He was a native of Allen, Michigan and a resident of Hammond, LA. James proudly served his country in WWII as a Flag Signalman on a Destroyer Escort, while in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. James is survived by his wife, Arlene Hurley; daughters, Linda H. and Twig (John) ; sisters, Joy and Margarite (Larry) L and stepdaughters, Sandra (Charles) and Jacqueline L. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtle Hurley; first wife, Sue Tasker Hurley; brothers, Forrest and Douglas Hurley; sister, Kay Sutton; daughter, Brenda Swafford; son, Rodney Hurley; granddaughter, Carrie Everett and grandson, James Swafford. Funeral services for James George Hurley will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
