  • Obituary: Greenfield - Edna (Langille) Wood Tourtellotte, 90, of 61 James St., former vice-chairman of the Republican Town Committee, and retired town welfare department clerk, died Friday in Franklin Medical Center. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, she lived in Boston where she was a secretary and model at Filene's department store. She later lived in Rochester, N.Y., Quincy and South Yarmouth, then settled in Greenfield in 1930. Her husband, Edward B. Tourtellotte, died in August 1980. She was a member of North Sandwich, N.H., Friends "Quakers" of North Sandwich, All Souls Unitarian Church, Greenfield Woman's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and Greenfield Country Club. She was a volunteer teacher at the Girls Club. She leaves a daughter, Bertha Franklin of Greenfield; son, William D. Wood of Falmouth, Maine; two sisters, Jennie C. Owen of Lakeville and Doris L. Stevens of Quincy; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. The memorial service will be Wednesday with burial at the convenience of the family.
