Born in Brookfield, he was the son of the late Stanley and Jessie (Lindsay) Boomer. During his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting and music. He was a great hockey fan and enjoyed the recent Stanley Cup playoff games. He was employed as a section maintenance worker for CNR for several years and later by Mrs. E.G. Moxon. Leland is survived by sisters, Ruth (Don) Conroy, Alton, Ferne (Alex) Horbul, Toronto, Carole Blenkhorn, Truro; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Hibbits, Maxine Abbey; brothers, Lindsay, S. Elwood; brother-in-law, Gordon Blenkhorn; nephew, Bobby Conroy. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 15th at 2 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. David Lutes officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the SPCA or to a charity of choice.
