  • Obituary: Marion Annabelle Langille, 93, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, passed away December 18, 2015, peacefully at the home. Born in Elmfield, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Munroe) Porter. Marion was a waitress at the Seahawk Restaurant and retired from Michelin Canada. She was a member of the Women's Institute Bowling League, Ladies Auxiliary of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Caribou District Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Caribou Heritage Society, Michelin Retirees Club, Bayview Community Club, and the New Horizons Seniors Club. Marion is survived by son, Robert (Esther) Langille, Three Brooks; daughter, Sally Adams, Pictou; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Martin (Lois) Porter, Ontario; Wilbert Porter, B.C.; sisters, Laura Cameron, Pictou; Margaret Franklin, B.C., and numerous nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Harry, sons, James and Burton, siblings, Willa Coulter, Sadie Babcock, Milton Porter and Kenny Porter. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Jacquie Ross officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou or to Aberdeen Palliative Care.
