He was retired from Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). He was a Second World War Veteran, Normandy and European Theaters. He was beloved husband of Audrey (Mayne). Loving father of Gail Oliver (Ken), Jeanne Boertjes (John), Robert, Richard (Shelly). Dear grandfather of Judi (Jerry), Anita, Dan, Rene (Jamie), Nicole,Stephanie, Adam (Melissa), Kelly, Cole, Mitchell; great-grandfather of Hayley, Quinn, Austin; dear brother of Carl (late Lise); sadly missed by nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Clarence and Mary (Purdy); brother Herman (late Hazel). Cremation has taken place. Services were held October 30, in Skinner and Middlebrook Funeral Home Ltd. in Mississauga. Spring interment to follow in Wentworth Cemetery, Wentworth. Donations to the Parkinson's Society of Canada, Maritime Division or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be greatly appreciated.
